LEDs shine brightly for longer

Reflectors have a significant impact on the quality of LEDs: The whiter the reflector, the higher the degree of reflectance and therefore the luminous efficacy. Conventional reflectors turn yellow over time from the light and the heat. This means that reflectance and luminous efficacy keep diminishing until the light-emitting diode must finally be replaced.

In reflectors made of VESTAMID® HTplus, this effect is inhibited by the very light inherent color of the material coupled with its outstanding UV stability. Evonik's PA10T remains pure white over a long period, so that the LED continues to shine brightly and a consistently high luminous efficacy is ensured. This significantly extends the life of light-emitting diodes.

Thanks to low water absorption, VESTAMID® HTplus also features high dimensional stability and is more easily processed; it is therefore especially suitable for use in particularly small LEDs. Its excellent adhesion to metal and silicon also supports the trend toward miniaturization.

PA10T, which is based up to 50 percent on bio-based raw materials, is also particularly eco-friendly.
